winter dream circle
“Every understood dream is like a slight electric shock into higher consciousness.”
—Marie-Louise Von Franz
The Winter Dream Circle is a collaborative workshop in which participants learn to explore and interpret nocturnal dreams. Each meeting focuses on two to three dreams brought by participants, with the group supporting the dreamer in finding personal meaning and resonance.
The orientation is Jungian, understanding dreams as significant communication from the unconscious, guiding the dreamer toward wholeness. Within this framework, the Ullman Method, Focusing, and somatic practices are introduced to deepen understanding.
Rather than psychotherapy, this group provides a supportive learning space for dream work and for connecting with the wisdom of the unconscious.
Five Sundays, Dec. 14 through Jan 11
(It’s ok if you can’t attend every meeting, but try not to miss more than one.)
10am - 12pm EDT, on Zoom
The fee is $200. Sliding scale available.
Facilitated by Lou Frederick.
FAQ
“What if I don’t remember my dreams?”
In this group, you’ll learn methods to support dream recall. With a bit of practice, most people begin to remember more dreams and feel a stronger connection to them.
“Do I have to share my dreams with the group?”
Sharing dreams is always optional. Even if you don’t bring a dream, you’ll be engaged, learning the methods, participating in the process, and working with others’ dreams.
“Why should I work with my dreams?”
Dream work is central to the process of individuation—the movement toward psychological wholeness.
Dreams illuminate neglected aspects of our lives. By bringing these parts into awareness, we can move beyond blind spots and free up creative energy that has been locked in the unconscious.
Some dreams have an archetypal or numinous quality. These experiences can renew a sense of meaning or spiritual connection.
Over time, many people come to experience their dream life as a kind of inner compass that strengthens intuition and self-trust.
